Had dinner tonight at the High Falls Café. Lets describe the food this way: I'd take the Gallooch there, but maybe not the Carlooch. Chicken stew hit the spot though.
Somehow we were seated smack dab in front of the live music scheduled to play tonight...The Virginia Wolves. This hippie, pro-American, anti-war band was holding a "manifestival" tonight (no, I'm not sure what that means), and invited everyone they knew to come celebrate their new album, and receive heart-felt, homemade appreciation awards. Think homemade certificates and paper crowns. I choose to give out our own award...to ourselves. I'd like to award Craig and Adam the "Most likely to politely sway thoughtfully to the music" award. Although we obnoxiously snuck out before intermission—and lets define 'snuck' as dramatically vacating the premises in front of all of High Falls, because yes I dropped my coat when I stood up and then knocked my chair half over—we did our best to show our support for a local group with a lot of heart.
I learned tonight that if you want to blog, ya gotta have your camera with you at all times. Because if I did, I would have taken a picture of April who belted out the National Anthem at the beginning of the set. She rocked the house as if she was Jennifer Hudson at the Super Bowl. If it was held in High Falls. At a café.
Special shout out to Cluney: you woulda loved the waiter.
