Construction update

So here are the new windows from the outside...

and here they are from the inside. The light is just awesome!

Out front they've carved the new path and patio.

That pile of stones is for the new stone wall going here...

Here's where the new patio will be.

View from the deck: there will be a stepping path from the patio to the path.

What's blooming at The Lodge

Peonies opened up this weekend.

Befores

Might have heard the Lodge is getting a facelift. Thought I'd post some "befores" for future reference.

Cypripedioideae

Last year they just sprouted leaves... but this weekend we found 2 blooming "Lady Slipper" orchids in the woods behind the house. Here are some close-ups:

Pretty awesome that these little ladies were just growing wild out back...
